Acne scar
My approach to acne scars is to tailor a treatment method for your acne scar type. This gives the best results. Depending on your skin type, acne scar type and down time I perform procedures such as fractional laser resurfacing, energy based micro-needling, surgical subscision, chemical peels, PRP, and dermal fillers. My acne scar revision programs are individually tailored according to your scars- this gives the greatest improvement. This section will give you an idea on the complexity of acne scars, and why the use of different methods to treat acne scars will give the best outcomes.
In most cases patients will require a combination of treatments- finding the correct combination for you is the key to success.
Subcision for Acne Scars
Acne scar treatment can be with surgery, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, micro needling, skin needling and PRP. The most under utilized method is with surgical subcision coupled with dermal fillers. Surgical subcision targets tethered or anchored acne scars. Unlike lasers it spares the upper part of the skin but breaks the bonds that hold down acne scars. I use a variety of subcision techniques to help with anchored and tethered scarring. Results are instant with little to no downtime. This procedure is subsidized by Medicare.
